#SOME THOUGHTS ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF "911"

We export "democracy" and modernity - at gunpoint - and import terrorism
and the ancient tribal hatreds of the whole world. What kind of a trade deal
is that? --Justin Raimondo

"I have already said that I am not involved in the September 11 attacks in
the United States. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider
the killing of innocent women, children, and other humans as an appreciable
act. There exists a government within the government of the United States.
That secret government must be asked as to who carried out the attacks....
The United States should trace the perpetrators of these attacks to those
persons who want to make the present century a century of conflict between
Islam and Christianity so that their own nation could survive.

- Guess Who (Source: BBC)

The ‘regime change’ that is needed most in the world is not by war in Iraq,
but by peaceful means in the United States.
-- David Krieger

Dear readers,

In a way it is a pleasure to be back with you on this silly "anniversary" of
9-11. Before I really get going, however, let me offer you a disclaimer: as
I said a year ago, I have sympathy for the victims of the WTC and Pentagon
attacks, and I pray daily (I'm not kidding!) for the repose of their souls
and that comfort of their families. It is very sad, but it's no more sad
than when any family loses a loved one to a car wreck, cancer, a heart
attack, etc. Unfortunately (or rather, fortunately), part of life on this
planet is its end. And the obsession with memorials and weeping over the
"loss" does little but foster a sense that "when it's all over, it's all
over." But of course we Catholics know that such is not the case. Death is
in a way the Grand Finale to the Drama of Life, and it is a Judgment that we
should both fear and welcome. As Men who are responsible for our actions,
there should be nothing but a sincere longing - even if that longing is
accompanied with a sincere and healthy Fear of Divine Justice - for the time
when, by God's Grace, we may have the opportunity to see God in the Face and
to have all of our hidden fears, thoughts, desires, and actions finally
brought to light and reconciled to God Himself by His Justice and His Mercy.
It will be the ultimate and final answer to the question, "What is the
meaning of life," and that's an answer that every sane person - no matter
how few of them are left - should long for with all his heart.

What is so disturbing about the memorials and remembrances accompanying the
"anniversary" of 9-11 is to what degree (i.e., completely) this question of
the meaning and purpose of it all is ignored. It's all mindless, senseless
weeping and sorrow. That's not to say that weeping and sorrow have no place
in human life, or are not a normal reaction to loss and tragedy. But it is
to say that the way in which the modern world engages in its expressions of
grief are chaotic and meaningless in the extreme.

Even the best of Catholics feel an acute sadness at the loss of a loved one,
but a true Catholic also recognizes that reaction as an essentially human
reaction, and admits that a truly supernatural perspective both fears death
(a la Verdi's DIES IRAE) but welcomes the thought of finally attaining our
Last End.

It is this perspective which is so glaringly absent - and which explains our
inability to grieve in a normal, comprehensible way. For those of you who
suffered through the televised ground zero memorial ceremony, contrast a
Tridentine requiem (assuming you've seen one), with its black vestments,
heart-wrenching Gregorian chant, draped coffin and candles, etc.; contrast
it with the Gettysburg address (read by the governor of NY - what is the
relevance of that to a so-called terrorist attack on the financial capital
of the world? more on that later...), the waving flags, the tears, the
constant voice-overs about what the first moment was that we realized we
were "at war," the metal circle placed in the middle of the dirt at ground
zero with groups of people marching up to it to pay their respects...it's
all such nonsense.

What SHOULD evoke our sympathy is a contemplation of how people who do not
believe in an afterlife cope with the loss of friends and family. Or how
people who are not morally prepared to do so are suddenly confronted with
the Almighty. But of course it is society en masse - not just the
individuals (in fact many of the individuals may indeed believe, in spite of
the public indifferentism and apostasy) - which lacks the Faith, and is
utterly and completely powerless to cope with an extraordinary event which
reminds Man (or should remind him) of the Four Last Things.

True Suffering

The problems with 9-11 remembrances are indeed to numerous to cover
adequately. Let's just examine a few.

The society of America, at large, is completely and totally morally corrupt.
Individuals who retain any sense of right and wrong do so in spite of the
system, not because of it. Justin Raimondo reports today
(http://www.antiwar.com/justin/justincol.html) that the media is advertising
a special report on Saddam Hussein's sex life and his alleged incompetence
in marital activities. Some of you may remember a report from about a month
ago that an American porn king was helping the war on terror by trying to
find information on terrorists by using his pornography internet site.
media coverage of him bragged that "he was so pleased to be able to use his
skills to defend the American dream." What utter rubbish; what absolute
filth, trash, and dross is paraded before the American public - and the
world - and we have the conceit and the self-contentedness to simply whimper
and moan about the loss of 2800 lives - a loss in many ways caused by the
very garbage that we export.

How so, you might ask?

Well, assuming for a moment that fanatical Arab terrorists really were at
the root of the attacks (we remain skeptical here), then a couple of things
come to mind:

As Jerry Falwell said, and before he "changed his mind" as a result of media
pressure, we have very little right to expect the blessings of Almighty God
when we behave the way we do. The absolute and unimaginable immorality of
this nation is a scandal which cries to heaven for vengeance, so should it
be a surprise that God leaves us to rot in the filth of our own making?
Homosexuality, promiscuity, immodesty, crass materialism, and murder - all
of these things are not only tolerated, but they are condoned by our
so-called laws and sponsored and spread by Hollywood and by the
"educational" establishment. Meanwhile, we are shocked and offended when God
allows us to suffer, and express outrage anytime a sane Arab suggests that
Western materialism is just as bad as communist tyranny.

On a strictly practical note, we invite the anger and hatred of the Arab
world by our behavior internationally. We turn a blind eye to Israeli
misbehavior, condone almost without exception their "defensive measures"
against the Palestinian population, and treat the rest of greater Arabia as
if it is, or should be, an extended US military base. But really, this
isn't new-world-order liberal capitalist colonialism...this is simply making
the world safe for democracy. Give me break. It is as lawless
internationally as we are lawless in the face of God's commandments at home.

Finally, and a little more on the "heavily intellectual" side, who is it
that dictated that society must be organized along lines determined by the
exigencies of financial, industrial capitalism? Are we compelled, as sheep,
to cram ourselves into the slaughter-houses writ large which the two towers
became? Is there really a need to conduct the volume of commerce and
exchange which is conducted on Manhattan Island?

A stubborn breed

It is interesting to note that the characteristic mark of the 9-11
remembrance is that rather than asking questions which the truly wise are
inclined to ask (those kinds of questions usually involve the word "why"),
we are sticking our heads in the sand farther and deeper than ever, bound
and determined to make the world EVEN safer for democracy than before 9-11.
Which is why our natural bent towards conspiracy leaves us a little
suspicious as to just what the NWO architects had to gain by 9-11, and how
many of them were, therefore, directly involved with it.

But that aside, the 9-11 remembrance ceremonies are uniquely unsatisfying
and frustrating because they simply perpetuate and encourage everything that
is wrong with this country and refuse to consider just some aspect of what
would make it right. Rather than take a look at our foreign policy, with a
view towards finding out what exactly we might have done to make some people
so mad at us, we shriek and bluster about "regime change' in Iraq. Would
this qualify as "adding insult to injury?" If our foreign policy did indeed
provoke bin Laden's henchmen, do we imagine that we can protect ourselves
from the "wind that would blow" (to quote St. Thomas More) after we dispose
of the leader of a sovereign Arab country - protect ourselves without
completely revoking what's left of the famed Bill of Rights?

It is not in America's nature to examine why, to apologize, to express not
only regret but sincere sorrow that we have embarked upon a wrong course.
And this is the crux of the issue: To do so would imply that there is an
objective, truer-than-the-Constitution standard that we can appeal to to
judge whether or not America and her actions are right or wrong. But, as we
all know too well, the Constitution is the "supreme law of the land." Step
aside, Lord, you make be King of the Rest of the World, but we, we
Americans, "we have no king but Caesar " (I think there was another group
who once uttered the same phrase on a very Famous occasion; cf. St. John
19:15).

To summarize

Thus it is that to any thinking, rational person, the 9-11 remembrances will
be more obnoxious than soothing, do more harm than good, and create more
angst than they alleviate. As a nation we refuse to examine - either on the
natural or supernatural level - just WHY these events took place; and when
we assert that we will ever-more-vigorously export and defend American-style
freedom, democracy, capitalism, and "human rights," we contemplate more of
what probably caused 9-11 (assuming all things are equal, which they
probably aren't) in the first place. We are a stiff-necked crowd.

Just the facts, Ma'am.

To make matters even worse, there is a strong possibility that the 9-11
thing wasn't really what it seemed anyway.

We have conceded that some degree of sorrow is normal and perfectly proper
over the loss of a loved one. No problem.

But there is a smugness and an arrogance which, in addition, permeates the
whole show. We are supposed to be confident that "American values"
(materialism, indifferentism, etc.) are far superior to the intolerant,
medieval fanaticism which allegedly lies behind the attacks and inspires the
attackers.

Insofar as "American values," in the minds of average, naive (it's true!)
Americans, represent notions such as respect for the weak, avoidance of
civilian casualties in war, treating people fairly and with decency, etc.,
etc., there is some value to the values. And if the alleged medieval
fanaticism which spurred on these horrible Arab beasts to take down the
WTC is really reducible to revenge sought against non-combatants, forced
conversions to Islam, etc, then there is a case to be made that American
values are superior to the so-called uncivilized" values of the Muslim
hordes.

The sad part of this charade is, however, that none of that really is true.
Neither on a theoretical level nor on a practical level.

The Theory

We've already discussed the theoretical briefly above. Suffice it to say at
this point that the remembrance ceremonies didn't involve solemn
commemorations of the Geneva convention or expressions of gratitude toward
the medieval institutions - the Church and the chivalric culture which it
inspired - which introduced the "rules of war" (I mean the Trice of God and
the Peace of God) to barbaric man; there were no candles lit in honor of
basic human decency or the defense and protection of the weak. Nothing that
is defensible and wholesome about America was really focused on during all
of the tear-shedding.

No, the ceremonies, whenever they weren't dwelling on the mindless suffering
of those who lost loved ones, focused rather on the notion of America as a
"symbol of freedom." Every reference to the ability of American's to "get
through" this horribly difficult 1-year anniversary of 9-11 (as if the
alternative were for the whole nation to simply commit suicide) was a
shining example of America's destiny to lead the world toward freedom and
democracy.

And here we are back at the sham of the whole event. At home, freedom means
license. License for the most disgusting trash to be spread by education
(sex ed, anyone?), academia (remember the APA report which indicated that
sex between adults and children can be a very positive and rewarding
experience in some cases?), the media (what's worse - Hollywood or the rap
music industry), popular sentiment (fornication is simply a notch in the
belt for 11-year-olds seeking to "grow up", and the most obnoxious,
disgusting homosexual behavior is simply one among many acceptable), social
engineering (how about the ACLU, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the ADL,
and other hideous organizations which do their utmost to ensure that
absolute Truth and objective morality - with its foundation in almighty
God - is kept out of public life at all costs), etc., etc.,
etc.,...literally AD NAUSEUM.

And abroad, freedom means permission to do it our way (what bliss!). In the
last 15 years, Libya, Serbia, Iraq, and the Sudan have felt America's wrath
because they have failed to live up to American standards. But after our
review of what those standards actually are, who would want to?

How is it then that we can expect that American values will be accepted by
the rest of the world as we embark upon this latest anti-Crusade to stuff
liberalism and materialism militarily and politically down everyone throat?
And how is it possible that we can congratulate ourselves for remaining
undeterred in our intention to do so, by what might have been, were we a
more humble lot, an occasion of a serious wake-up call?

The Practice.

We have noted how the theory of American "greatness" which lies behind the
smug and self-assured celebrations of our ability to "overcome" the tragedy
of 9-11, is a plain and simple falsehood, making our smugness an affront to
the Truth rather than a justified pride and gratefulness for being, as a
nation, on the correct path.

Adding insult to injury is the fact that, in the real practical world of
political events, the alleged conflict between medieval superstition and
fanaticism - represented allegedly by bin Laden - and the
freedom-and-greatness camp - represented by America - is no such conflict at
all. The entire clash has been engineered, if not in its details at least
in its broad strokes, to ensure that such a conflict is perceived. But
engineering a perceived conflict is a far cry from the existence of the real
one. And this is the ultimate farce of today’s celebrations which laud
America’s ability to stand firm in the face of fanatical agressors.

Because if the collapse of the WTC was not caused, at least from the highest
levels or in its root causes, by bin Laden and his henchmen, but rather by
the Powers that Be in order to lead us into a further intervention in world
events, to ensure that the liberal-democratic order triumphs based on force
of arms, then the grief and suffering of the 9-11 ceremonies should be
accompanied not by smugness that "American greatness will triumph in the
end," but rather by sheer outrage that 3000 citizens were allowed to perish
in order to further the aims of the Zionist New-World-Order gang, run and/or
coordinated from and/or coordinated by America in the first place!

How can you say that?

Well, go back to the first Legion Bulletin, at
http://www.legionofstlouis.com/wtcattack.htm. It contained a summary of
what we only thought was possible at the time, but now seems quite clear:

QUOTE

It would be a mistake for intelligent men to rule out the possibility that
things are not what they seem. Things are rarely what they seem even in
normal times, and these are not normal times. At this point in history, as
Catholics who are on the blackest page of the New World Order's blackest of
black lists, we have no reason to believe that we are being told the truth
and that things are always on the up and up. We who are traditional in the
Faith take this spirit for granted when dealing with the Vatican. Are Wall
Street and Washington more to be trusted? Do literally centuries of usury
and at least one century (and two World Wars) worth of godless and
conscience-less Empire conspire to create a scrupulous conscience? We
merely offer, then, this possibility, which in the days months and weeks
ahead should not be ruled out by thoughtful persons: whatever the official
story becomes, there remains the possibility that that official story will
be a cover for something else, and that there are individuals who benefit
from the results or the effects of the alleged "attack on our way of life"
who are other than the hypothetical crazy Arabs. Or the "crazy Arabs"
themselves may have, as a result of blind, if understandable, rage played
right into the hands of those who stand to gain from whatever comes of these
catastrophic events. We once had a President who profited politically and
geopolitically from the destruction of a fleet of American ships in Hawaii,
and he profited so much that he didn't stop the fleet's destruction because
the supposed gains from the fleet's destruction outweighed the loss of
American lives aboard those ships. Have our current leaders learned the
lesson they should have learned from that tragedy? Have they matured and
grown wiser since the first day of infamy? Are they less capable than he
was of treason? It is notable that yesterday is already being called
another "day of infamy," and we may be allowed to hope that the political
scheming and wheeling and dealing which surrounded, preceded and followed
the first day of infamy does not follow, and did not precede, this one. We
may be allowed to hope, but it would be naive to assume.

UNQUOTE.

Too fanciful to be possible, you say? Well, the skeptical Europeans seem
far less credulous than their American counterparts. Have a look at the
Abbe de Nantes’ website for just a glimpse of some of the research and
journalism that 9-11 has provoked, and the inconsistencies that have been
identified by that research: http://www.crc-internet.org/june2a.htm. Therein
he also lists several books which have been published in Europe which expose
many of the problems with the official 9-11 story.

For another, more comprehensive synopsis of the myriad inconsistencies and
oddities which we are being asked to believe regarding 9-11, see
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/stf1.html.

This is the first of a five-part summary of all of the facts which were
reported in the news early on and which, taken in isolation mean possible
nothing, but when taken together mean that 9-11 was yet another Lavon
affair, another USS Liberty, another transmitter planted in Libya, another
Le Belle Discotheque bombing, another Pearl Harbor.

IT IS BY FAR THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE, USER-FRIENDLY, AND EXCELLENT SUMMARY OF
9-11 THAT WE HAVE THUS FAR SEEN.

We offer merely a glimpse of what is chronicled in this excellent summary:

The dancing Israelis atop a building in New Jersey, who were confined in
solitary confinement for up to 40 days and then released without comment
Discussions of a military buildup and military plans to deal with
Afghanistan months before 9-11
Mossad warnings to US Intelligence agencies several days before the attacks
Warnings received by French intelligence before the attacks
A warning to the Mayor of Los Angeles to avoid flights on 9-11.
Pentagon offices canceling travel plans the day before 9-11.
Instant messages from an Israeli internet company to WTC occupants two hours
before the attack, warning of it
Netanyahu’s comments, on Sept 12, that the attacks were very good’ for the
US-Israeli relationship

And how about:

The passport magically found in the middle of the street in Manhattan,
despite the fact that nearly everything else was incinerated
The presence of the Koran, Arabic flight manuals, and box cutters which were
found (wow!) in bags which were supposed to be on the Boston flight but –
what a miracle! – didn’t make it, and instead rolled right off the conveyor
belt and into FBI hands! (this remind me of those copies of Mien Kampf which
always turn up scattered around inside a big white van which is always
parked near any Jewish establishment where a lone gunman has just shot up
the place)
Seven of the 19 hijackers being found alive and well

Etc., etc., etc.

And the one outspoken woman in the U.S. Congress from GA who was vehemently
calling for an investigation into the real cause of 9-11 and the
Administration’s links to it was recently defeated in a primary election by
a huge influx of cash which went to her opponent from Jewish groups all
around the country.

Historically, it’s possible.

The Legion Bulletin from September 12, 2001, also ran a story by Michael
Hoffman providing a simple summary of the numerous times in which our
government has lied to us about military action, all with a view towards
getting us to support some nefarious scheme or other. See
http://www.legionofstlouis.com/wtcattack.htm again for the full story, but
here is a simple enumeration of the incidents which Hoffman discusses at
greater length:

The Maine bombing, 1898, The Lusitaina, 1914, Pearl Harbor, and OK City,
1995.

Where does this leave us?

It should do two things:

(1) Remind us not only to refuse to believe everything we hear, but to
refuse to believe MOST of what we hear. Anyone who maintains a position
that is a mixture of facts and opinion should be able to respond,
coherently, to glaring inconsistencies, oddities, and downright silliness,
if the story is true. A lack of ability to defend a position as
llegedly obvious as the cause and the details of the 9-11 events – and
the Establishment has conclusively demonstrated this lack of ability and/or
willingness - should mean one thing: there’s more there than meets the eye.

(2) Remind us just what it is that we are being asked to defend, support,
rally to…whatever, in the wake of the 9-11 events and the swell of emotion
which they conveniently provoked. It is rather clear that Iraq is next on
the list, and whatever does happen will be linked to the war on terror and
may in fact be the first in a series of attempts by the US to effect a
regime change n numerous places all over the Middle East. In determining
the justice of this upcoming war, it is imperative that the alleged
motives be true and verifiable. 9-11 is at the root of the proclaimed
motive, and it is incumbent upon EVERY ONE OF US to refuse to support
another regime change scheme until all of the irreconcilable facts and
inconsistencies surrounding 9-11 are explained fully and clearly. Remember
that Paul Wolfowitz declared on CNN that the US had plenty of hard evidence
that bin Laden was guilty. That evidence should be made known to the
American public in something other than a doctored, phony Al Jazeera tape.
If it is not, we are not being outlandish in assuming that the evidence
simply doesn’t exist.

It’s a rough world out there, fellow Crusaders, but knowledge of the truth
is – truly – the only thing that will set us free. God grant that we may
find it, cling to it, and proclaim it, all in the Name of He who is Truth,
and for the Honor and Glory of his Blessed Mother.

Thanks for reading.
